Description: An early zhu ni xiao pin that has such an adorable beauty. It was covered with old stains, and I thought that hindered the true grace of this piece. So I gave it a thorough cleaning... you have to click on Larger Images to be amazed by the before-and-after and how creamy and jade-y it actually is after cleaning! It reminds me immediately of the blog post Mine Have More Tea Stains Than Yours!.

Traditional pear shape. The zhu ni was blended with a portion of fine sands to enhance its durability, hence also giving the surface texture. Great solid feeling in hand, well balanced and is comfortable to handle and pour. Lid and body fits well. In a cleaned condition, with only a little stains remaining inside. I had boiled it thoroughly so it is safe and ready to use. Be prepared and surprised to see its surface become even more "oily" after seasoning!

Bottom seal: Ming Zhi Zhai. "Zhai" means a scholar's study room. "Ming Zhi" means "to reveal, to make clear my aspiration/ambition/will".
