Description: One of Meng Hai's 2005 highest grade green cake offerings. Among the 5 "peacock" green cakes they offered (Meng Song, Meng Hai, Ba Da, Brown, Peacock) in 2005, this one leads by featuring 100% (no blending) traditional sun-dried spring-harvested arbor leaves from the highest peak in XiShuangBanna, "Hwa Zhu Lian Tse" mountain (2429m high).

Overall Impression:

Liquor:Noble yellow color liquor with good clarity.

Aroma:Among the five peacocks in 2005, I found this one has the most thick, penetrating and "heavy" kind of aroma. No smokiness. Nice balance of refreshing floral fragrance with robust woody undertone, and very interesting change of aroma in each cup.

Taste:Strong, thick-bodied, very lingering and smooth enough to enjoy now. Good sweetness in the aftertaste. I suggest to use a slightly cooler-than-boiling (~195F) water to brew it so as to tone down the juvenile wildness in its taste. Comparing to "Spring of Meng Hai" green cake, this one is more masculine and full-bodied.

Brewings:Good durability. I can get 5 brews from it.
