For information about wood-firing kiln (anagama).

From the famous Taiwan artist Mr. Lin Yi-Jieh (yes, he also made the "frog" tea set), this tea bowl (chawan) is one of his 2007 wood-fired creations.

The whole body is decorated with bold and streamlined curves, which give a very intense, forceful and indeed eye-catching statement. The deposit of ashes and the irregular firing pattern make a very dynamic and rustic feeling. Signed at the bottom. Come in its own wooden box which is also signed and sealed by the artist.

Size:
Tea bowl - 5 3/8 in. (13.7cm) in diameter and 3 3/8 in. (8.6cm) in height.
Wooden box - 8 in X 8 in X 8 in (20.3cm)

Mr. Lin sent us pictures of the wood-fired kiln which he used to make this piece:

And the picture below shows one poor piece that could not stand the fierce firing; I like the amalgamation of tragic and beauty of this picture!
